01 Brand

A trust mark
for software.

ERBIA Systems designs, engineers and operates every system in-house. Our name is our guarantee.

Audience
Operations and technical leads who depend on the software their teams use.
Promise
We stay responsible for a product after launch.
Approach
One team across strategy, engineering and operations.
01.1

Our principles.

Craft

Care taken from first sketch to production.

Permanence

Software built to last and to be maintained.

Clarity

Plain language and legible interfaces.

01.2

Plain and specific.

We write plainly and describe what a system does and how it works, without adjectives.

  • Write plainly. Prefer the specific to the abstract.
  • State what a thing does, not how impressive it is.
  • Avoid filler, hype and superlatives.
  • Keep one idea per sentence and keep sentences short.
  • Avoid exclamation marks and emoji.
Instead ofWrite
Next-generation, AI-powered platform. Software that reads plant data and flags anomalies.
Seamless, end-to-end solutions. One system, from the data model to the interface operators use.
We leverage cutting-edge technology. We build with the tools the problem needs.
01.3

Writing the name.

  • ERBIA Systems S.L.: Legal name. Contracts, invoices and formal documents.
  • ERBIA Systems: Trade name. First mention in running text.
  • ERBIA: Short form. Later mentions, headings and the mark.
  • erbia.net: Lowercase. Domains and email addresses only.

Write the name as ERBIA Systems or ERBIA. Keep product names as single, exact words: Argi, KarbonGarbi, DendaPrest.

02 The mark

Drawn in one line.

The hare is drawn as one continuous stroke and paired with the full name. It stays legible from a 32 px favicon to full signage.

02.1

Give the mark room.

Leave a clear space of X on each side, where X is the cap height of the capital E in the wordmark. Keep type, images and edges outside it.

02.2

Stay legible.

Use the mark at or above these widths. Below the minimum, step up to a higher-level lockup or use the mark.

02.3

Built, not redrawn.

  • Five approved forms: horizontal lockup (primary), horizontal lockup (short), vertical lockup, wordmark and mark.
  • The wordmark uses ERBIA in Inter Bold and Systems in Inter Regular, with set tracking.
  • The hare is drawn as a continuous line. It is not traced, simplified, extended or rebuilt.
  • The hare and wordmark keep a set relative position. Do not recombine or separate them.
02.4

Do not.

Do not stretch or condense.
Do not rotate or skew.
Do not recolour outside the palette.
Do not add shadows, outlines or effects.
Do not set on low-contrast or busy backgrounds.
Do not reproduce below the minimum size.
03 Colour

A deep blue,
on warm paper.

The palette is small: a deep blue, a warm paper, near-black ink and two neutrals. The six values below cover the system.

CMYK builds are process approximations for coated stock. Pantone references are the nearest visual match and should be confirmed against a physical chip before production. Paper is a warm, uncoated stock; the CMYK value covers the case where it must be reproduced as ink.

03.4

Do not.

  • Do not introduce hues outside this palette.
  • Do not tint the blue beyond the approved ramp.
  • Do not set long-form body copy in blue; reserve it for accents and headings.
  • Do not place blue text on mid-tone backgrounds where contrast falls below 4.5:1.
04 Typography

Inter for words,
mono for data.

The system uses two open-source families: Inter for text and display, JetBrains Mono for labels, data and code.

04.3

Do not.

  • Do not substitute another family for Inter or JetBrains Mono.
  • Do not set continuous text in JetBrains Mono; it is a data and label face.
  • Do not use Inter below weight 400 for running text.
  • Do not stretch, condense or synthesise weights.
  • Do not apply tracking to lowercase body copy.
  • Do not set long passages in uppercase or in mono.

Both families are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and are free for commercial use, modification and embedding. The site self-hosts both as variable fonts; the PDF embeds them. Fallback stacks are for degraded rendering only: Inter falls back to system-ui and sans-serif; JetBrains Mono falls back to ui-monospace and monospace. The phonetic characters in pronunciation guides are the exception: neither face covers IPA Extensions, so those glyphs fall back to a system monospace.

05 The name

How the name
is said.

ERBIA is Basque for hare. The pronunciation is close in most languages.

Euskara /ˈeɾbi.a/
EUerbia
Castellano /ˈeɾ.βja/
ESliebre
Français /ɛʁ.bja/
FRlièvre
English /ˈɜː.bi.ə/

06 Graphic system

The system behind
the layouts.

Three elements extend the system beyond the mark: the ERB IA device, a blueprint grid and a spacing scale.

06.1

AI inside the name.

The letters I and A already sit inside ERBIA. Boxed, they mark artificial intelligence: IA in the name, AI in English.

ERBIA

Artificial intelligence, in the name.

  • Use the device once per layout, as a hero or section opener.
  • The box encloses both letters, I and A. Do not box a single letter.
  • On ink use a paper box; on paper use a blue box. No other colours.
  • Keep the device separate from the hare.
06.2

A technical substrate.

A hairline grid on a 40 px cell. It signals engineering and measurement, and sits behind content as a texture.

Paper · #E5E5E5 lines
Ink · 14% paper lines
  • Keep the grid behind content. Do not set type over the pattern.
  • Hold it at low contrast. It is texture, not decoration.
  • Do not rotate, skew or scale the grid unevenly.
06.3

The layout grid.

Layouts sit on a twelve-column grid. Section spacing, gutters and component gaps follow the 8 px scale; hairline rules and dense data cells use smaller steps.

12 columns · 1152 px max · 32 px gutters

06.4

Do not.

  • Do not run the ERB IA device in body copy or box any word other than IA.
  • Do not recolour, outline, rotate or add effects to the device.
  • Do not place text over the blueprint grid.
  • Do not use spacing values outside the 8 px scale.
07 The domain

The company
address.

erbia.net is used for the website, email and products.

web, email and products
erbia.net
  • Short Five letters, easy to type.
  • Global .net is unrestricted and available in every market.
  • The name The domain matches the company name across web and email.
08 The product family

A shared
standard.

ERBIA Systems builds and operates a family of products. Each carries the ERBIA name and is developed by the same team.

AI agent

Argi

An AI agent that reads operational context and acts on it.

Carbon accounting

KarbonGarbi

Carbon accounting and environmental impact for Basque industry, measured where emissions occur.

Online commerce

DendaPrest

A platform for online commerce, from catalogue and checkout to the operations behind the storefront.

09 Applications

On paper, on screen.

Standard stationery, invoices and email signatures. The name and its proportions stay consistent across documents.
